is the Atkins diet good for people with Diabetes????

can it prevent diabetes or cure it (can you even cure diabetes, or is it something you’ll have forever) ????
I’m not actually interested on going on the diet… and i dont have diabetes.
I’m doing a case study on the diet and heard it helped diabetes. Obviously not!
Oh and Dr.Atkins died from slipping on ice and getting a brain heamorrage. (spl?)
